The World Rookie Ranking lists the best youth athletes for the freestyle disciplines Slopestyle, Big Air and Halfpipe by season (last rookie finals date, to next rookie finals date).
The following categories exist:
- Overall: Considers all athletes aged 18 or under at the beginning of the year for each discipline. Counted are the "average" (always divide by 3) of the best three results of an athlete withing the the season
- Freesyle: Considers all athletes aged 18 or under at the beginning of the year. Counted are the average of the single best result of each discipline (HP,SS,BA) withing the the season
- Rookies: Considers all athletes aged between 15 and 18 at the beginning of the year for each discipline. Counted are the average of the best three results of an athlete withing the the season
- Groms: Considers all athletes aged between 12 and 14 at the beginning of the year for each discipline. Counted are the average of the best three results of an athlete withing the the season
- Supergroms: Considers all athletes aged between 1 and 11 at the beginning of the year for each discipline. Counted are the average of the best three results of an athlete withing the the season
Since the rankings are seasonal, the injury protocol of the main WSPL does not apply here. No points are frozen and carried across seasons.
